My past clients have ranged in age from 20’s to 60’s. They have been single, divorced, and married. I have had clients who have a disability, clients who do not identify as neurotypical, and clients who are experiencing grief. Your life experience isn’t what determines if I am the right coach for you. What matters is our connection and level of trust. Check out the Results page to see if you relate to some of my past clients. Then schedule a Connection Call and we can visit and decide together if we would be a good fit.

There’s no one right way to do things - but there may be a right way for YOU! As your coach, I’m here to help reveal the strategies that are most effective for you. The beauty of coaching is that it doesn’t really matter what the topic is, we can work together to shift the thoughts and feelings that have kept you from making the progress you want.

Life coaching is about moving from where you are to where you want to be. You go to a coach to change, enhance, or improve some area of your life, e.g., to lose weight, change careers, improve a relationship, have better life balance, or find a greater sense of purpose and meaning. Our sessions focus on specific, goal-oriented outcomes. A life coach isn’t a healthcare professional. I have heard a coach say they are in the “healing arts.” Coaching combines art with science to help you design the future you desire.
Counseling / psychotherapy is about healing deep emotional issues, usually arising from the past. A life coach will help clients explore the past only as a means of understanding their current life experiences and belief systems. Counselors also counsel individuals on mental illness conditions while coaches do not. However, life coaches usually have a toolkit of strategies and hacks that may help with feelings of anxiety or sadness. During a Connection Call, we can discuss your individual circumstances to see if coaching is a good option for you.
If you are already seeing a counselor, you might still benefit from working with a life coach. I have had clients do both simultaneously and found the coaching process propelled them further than they ever expected. Many of my clients have worked with a counselor/therapist in the past and discovered that coaching was a better process for helping them let go of the past and move forward. In coaching, we move beyond the therapeutic component and we look at how you want to show up in the world and work towards that. You might choose to seek a life coach instead of a therapist if you feel ready to take on a new challenge and just want some guidance and perspective to make it happen.
Consulting is about advising, giving suggestions and/or information. Coaches sometimes incorporate consulting into their practice when they have a professional area of expertise.

You might be surprised by how quickly things can come together through coaching. There can be immediate and dramatic impacts on your life, even within your first session. For example, the first time I met Joce I spent about 20 minutes coaching her around her entrepreneurism. She wanted help organizing it into something more manageable and efficient so she could create momentum. “Stephanie helped me clarify what I want and make more decisions. It got simplified to an awesome action plan faster and easier than my sometimes more slow, indecisive, procrastinating tendencies.” Over the course of many coaching sessions, you will likely see profound changes in how you see yourself and your ability to take action on your intentions.

Sessions are 30 or 60 minutes long. Each session will begin with the topic you choose to get coaching on that day. YOU get to decide! Depending on the depth of the topic, more than one issue could be addressed during a session. During our first session together we will discuss the various areas in your life you are wanting to improve on and can use this discussion as an anchor point to narrow down the scope of your sessions.
-
The frequency of your sessions will vary depending on your needs. Coaching packages usually have us meeting weekly. During your Zoom coaching session, you will decide what post-session actions you will take. This might be taking action steps to reach a goal, implementing a new way of thinking, or asserting yourself in your interactions with others.

Schedule a Connection Call. There’s no commitment, pressure, or obligation to continue. We could also discuss having a free mini-coaching session to introduce you to coaching if you haven’t experienced it before. If you haven’t already, read the client stories on the Results page.

If you’ve never experienced coaching before, it can be hard to understand what a difference coaching can make in your life. Usually someone comes to a coach to get help with something they have already tried to do on their own, without success, or aren’t entirely convinced is possible and don’t know where to start. You can save time, energy, and money as you make progress through coaching. Consider what it’s costing you to be stuck: How long have you been wanting to make a change? What is it worth to you and your spouse/partner to actually get the results you’ve been talking about, possibly for years? Where would you like to be three months from now? One year from now? How will you feel if you never achieve what you hope to? I encourage you to discuss these questions together then schedule a Connection Call so you can both have any questions answered.
